About Friendly Robotics® South Africa
Hi, from down here at the Southern tip of the Ingodwana Continent.
There is an old saying: "Africa is a tough country" Why so tough? It rains in the summer; thunder storms and hail arriving late in the afternoon is common, the winter is dry and dusty with occasional snow on the high mountain peaks, bush fires and smog are also common just before spring arrives and we Africans love it! Not only we, but the animals do too.
If you have never been here in South Africa, you have seen nothing yet.
On a Fly Inn Estate, just 20 minutes drive from Johannesburg International Airport you'll find a "Friendly" place to visit. This is where our Head Quarters is located. See Google Earth at Grid Reference: S25 58' 16" E28 21' 02" or Google Maps.
This is a close family business where old and young are involved in some way or another. We all love flying. I can still remember one of our first aircraft. A 1970 model PA 32 known as the Piper Cherokee 6, fitted with a 2-Axis Auto-pilot. Nothing funny about it in a tough country like this, it was standard and almost a necessity. Just set and go ? it never failed me.
Thirty years on and I have a lawnmower named Robomower on my tough Kikuyu lawn. I set it and press "go" ? why should it fail me now? It's the obvious next step.
We call it flying into the future.

Vision
During the course of the last 50 years mankind has automated many of the routine chores at home. Washing machines, dishwashers and dryers are found almost in every home in the western world these days. The next step in this natural evolution is to automate tasks that require motion in the space of the home or the garden, such as cleaning and mowing. A new category of robotics appliances is being developed in order to do this, appliances that are able to move in order to perform their tasks, and avoid objects, pets and people in their way. This emerging new category of appliances is called Home Robotics, and it is expected that in the years to come these machines will become as common in our homes as washing machines are today.
Friendly Robotics® focused on making and selling this exciting new generation of home appliances. Our products liberate people from routine chores such as cleaning the home and mowing the lawn, thus making our life more convenient and freeing our valuable time for more enjoying activities.
Ownership
Friendly Robotics® is a private company. The majority of shares are held by the founders of the company.
Green Products
Robomow® is as green as the grass it mows.
From saving energy to the way it cuts the grass, Robomow is making as less impact on the environment as possible.
With new ingenious technology and grasscycling techniques, the fully automatic lawnmowers are much easier to use, waste less energy, less air pollution and less impact on the world around us.
While mowing your lawn, Robomow cuts the grass into very fine cuttings and disperses them over the ground. They decompose quickly and release valuable nutrients and water into the soil.
This results in a healthier and better-looking lawn, and eliminates the need to collect and remove the clippings.
